The Ever-Changing Thought (from the mind of a recovering alcoholic) is my feeble attempt on sharing thoughts on:
- Personal Experiences
- Life Lessons
- Goals and Goal Setting
- Life After the Bottle or Can (Not the toilet, the can, beer can)
- Personal Growth
I am trying to pass on what I have learned about life, that not just an alcoholic will be able to use, but that anyone who is interested in learning and growing personally and spiritually, should find the information here appealing, if I play my words right.
I share humorous, serious, and just stupid everyday “life” events with you, all of which are true. I hope you find it as enjoyable reading, as I do sharing.
This is a very enjoyable road that I’m on. It’s going to require dedication, devotion, and a lot of blood sweat and tears, which I’m willing to dedicate.
I am truly learning more about you and about me through this medium, through the research, and from the community that we are all a part of. Please enjoy your stay and share your comments with my small but growing neighborhood. What would you like to see that’s not here? How can I improve? If your worthy, I may just come visit your place if you’ll comment. OK, I’ll come even if your not worthy.
You are my friend and I need you as much as you need:
The Ever-Changing Thought
I look forward to reading you!
Let me help you help yourself!
About the author (blogger..whatever…) me

My name is Scott, and I’m a recovering alcoholic (feels so wonderful to say that). I have been sober since Feb 25, 2008. Not a drip or a drop have I had.
I was born on April 26th, 1973 (you figure my age) in San Antonio TX at Fort Sam Houston. Except for the few months in Texas, and 5 years in Red Boiling Springs TN, I have lived in Lafayette Tennessee pretty much all of my life.
I am currently a Network Engineer at Artis Networks and have been working there for almost 9 years. I previously worked at Gibson Guitar in the IT department. I hold an old MCSE (NT4.0 days) a CNA (too old to mention really) and even more valuable, about 15 years of experience in the IT field.
I am divorced as of 5 years ago and the father of 2 children. A daughter that is 13 (going on 25) and a son who is 10 (going on..well..Xbox, Playstation, DS, etc.,)
I love God, my family, my children, my friends old and new. I am once again growing spiritually, daily.
Life, today, is grand.

in a sense, you are my glory. I am proud of you. I think God will use you – probably more times when you’re not aware of it than when you are. also, I think courage is doing what needs to be done in spite of the fear not instead of fear; and that wisdom comes from all education not just formal education but the hard knocks of life. hopefully you will learn from not only your knocks, but by others examples (spare yourself a few knocks). keep up the good work !!!!!!!!
Thanks “gran.” You introduced me to this God of mine..er..ours, years and years ago. But you know, I was young and knew everything I needed to know, so, I just knew I could do it on my own. Did it for many years, many heartaches, many heartbreaks, and loads of very hard knocks, and for some reason even then God was still with me. For what I’ve done and been through, I should have been in a whole lot worse shape than I am. Probably dead actually. God wasn’t, and still isn’t, through with me yet. Thank you and “pa” so much for everything you taught me as a stubborn brat. Ya dun good.
I agree with gran, wisdom doesn’t come only from formal education. I mostly don’t give advice, but in your case I’ll suggest you not only focus on future goals but start becoming aware of how you can use the wisdom you’ve gained by making small contributions in your every day life.
I love your blog!
Scott,
If I may ask…what road did you take to sobriety? (AND CONGRATULATIONS!) Did you do a 12-step program, decide “NO MORE,” meet with a member of the Clergy?
I’m fascinated by your “about” page, and the goals you have set. I’m also curious WHY and HOW you got to the point you did – if you care to share!
Thanks,
Rita
@jean – Wow, this one sneaked up on me. I’m sorry for not responding sooner. Thanks once again for the suggestions. I feel like I’m on the same page as you are as far as my focus and using my wisdom. it’s always good to hear it from someone though. Thanks Jean!
@Rita – The first post to this blog tells some of that. Maybe I need to write a full page and post a link to it on my About page. I just figured not too many folks would really want to hear about that that much of the detail. Maybe I need to do a question and answer session, where I open a post to ya’lls questions, then I’ll answer in another post. ??? Not sure. But at any rate, I definitely don’t mind sharing. Thanks Rita!
@Rita-I’ve been thinking about your last question(s) and I’m not sure what you mean by “the point you did.” Remember, I’m an alcoholic. Sometimes you have to speak really slooowwwwwllllllyyyyyyy before my mind really comprehends. Expound upon it and I will see what I can do.
Thanks again Rita!

@Rita – Well, you got me to thinking about my road to recovery, and I’ve put it up there. Thanks for that. You don’t know how much better I feel just writing all of that down and sharing.
Thanks again Rita!!
